Thesis - Ebola

The rapid spread of Ebola throughout west Africa is of great global concern because of its high mortality rate and how easily contractible it is; in addition, the status of west Africa for Ebola to be able to spread this rapidly can be traced back to the colonization of Africa, and how it influenced Africa post colonial era.

  1. 1. The grammar looks good, i got a little confused with the wording after the semicolon.
    2. This thesis can be answered in the time and space provided.
    3. You should also incorporate whether or not Ebola is of global concern

  2. Grammatically, your thesis has good transitions, and I agree with Shannon about how your wording is confusing. This thesis can be more evaluated in the time and space given. I think you should provide more information of why Ebola is a global concern.

  3. I would recommend organizing your argument chronologically - in other words, identify the role of imperialism prior to delving into contemporary issues. You will also need to address the media/news coverage of this issue. Finally, you will need to consider the political, economic, and social conditions that allowed for the rapid spread of the disease. (For example, traditional burial practices and continued instability/recovery from totalitarian rule and civil war.)
