HQ - ISIS
What social, economic, and political factors led to the instability in the Middle East that gave way to ISIS's rise to power as a so-called Islamic State? How has this influenced society in Iraq, Syria, and the rest of the world?
First, this is grammatically correct, with the proper structure. ISIS is a specific enough topic to for you to address in the allotted time, since the topic is a specific terrorist organization rather than terrorism as a whole. I think your topic will be very interesting to read about, especially learning about the background and how they came to power. For your second question, make sure to include the different political, economic, and social effects ISIS has had on society and in the rest of the world.
I like how you are using the first question to build up into the second. Both of the questions are solid, but for the second question, I would explain in the essay why Syria and Iraq are so important to ISIS.
You're on the right track. However, I think many Muslims would take issue with the classification of ISIS as a true Islamic state. Be sure to address the social, political, and economic factors that contributed to the instability that allowed for the rise of ISIS (or ISIL). This may include the influence of foreign actors both as members of ISIS and as forces that contributed to the instability.
